The app provides recent RNLI lifeboat launch information, station histories, favourite stations, national activity statistics and optional push notifications.

Common Questions
I am not receiving notifications
Open Push Notifications in the app and confirm that All Stations or Favourite Stations is selected.
If Favourite Stations is selected, only alerts for stations saved as favourites will be received.
You can also open the iPhone Settings app, select Notifications, select Lifeboat Launches and make sure Allow Notifications is enabled.
An internet connection is required to receive notifications.
A notification arrived later than the launch time
Notifications can only be sent after a launch appears in the RNLI national feed.
RNLI records may occasionally be published or updated in a batch, so an alert can arrive later than the recorded launch time.
The latest-launch list and activity box briefly disagree
The latest-launch list is retrieved directly from the RNLI feed, while the activity statistics are provided by the Lifeboat Launches Worker.
Refresh the app to update both sources. A brief difference can occur while newly published records are being processed.
A station history is missing a recent launch
Station histories are obtained from RNLI station pages and historical open data.
Individual station pages may update later than the national launch feed. Refresh the page later and report the station if the record remains missing.
My favourite station is not shown
Open Favourite Stations from the app menu, search for the station and select it.
Favourite choices are stored locally on your device.
I have found incorrect information
Please email us with the station name, launch date and time, and a description of the problem. Screenshots are helpful where available.
Push Notifications
Push notifications are optional and support three modes:
- All Stations: receive alerts for every newly detected launch.
- Favourite Stations: receive alerts only for selected favourites.
- Off: receive no launch alerts.
Notification permission and presentation settings can also be changed at any time through the iPhone Settings app.
Data Sources
Lifeboat Launches uses public RNLI feeds, RNLI station pages, RNLI-related historical open data and a Cloudflare Worker operated by Matthew Moore Apps.
Although we aim to keep information current, source information can occasionally be delayed, corrected or temporarily unavailable.
For emergencies or operational decisions, always use official emergency services and RNLI channels.
Privacy
No account is required. Favourite stations and notification choices are stored locally on the device.
